According to Tribal Football, West Ham United is in talks to sign the former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi.
The Nigerian midfielder became a free agent in March after his deal with Turkish side, Trabzonspor, was terminated.
Mikel Obi left the club after he declined to play following the outbreak of COVID-19.
The 33-year-old who had previously played in England for Chelsea and Middlesbrough was also linked to the West Brom side of the Championship.
Yet it’s known that the Hammers are still in talks with him.
Mikel Obi had been closely linked to Brazilian teams, Botafogo and Internacional since leaving Trabzonspor, with the player acknowledging the interest himself.
It does appear, however, that he is likely to return to English football.
