Natural resources as substances or materials that can be found in nature, which can be used for Economic gain. These materials exist naturally without human actions.
They are billions of natural resources all over the world, and they can be found in every place in the world. Natural resources can be found on land air and water; some natural resources include wood, coal, oil, iron, and vegetation.
Natural resources are generally classified into two types;
Biotic – resources which are gotten from the biosphere (living & organic materials e.g. Animals, Trees). Some examples include coal and petroleum.
Abiotic – resources gotten from non-living or non-organic materials (e.g. Land, Water, Air) some examples include copper, silver, gold.
Nigeria remains on top of the list of one of the African countries with a wide variety of natural resources, this West African giant is richly blessed with natural resources ranging from precious stones such as Marble, Gypsum, Barites, and Kaolin to Metals like Copper and Aluminum.
The mineral resources in Nigeria are so numerous that the majority of them have not been exploited yet.
Natural Resources in Nigeria can be furtherly classified into two groups for easy identification;
Mineral resources and Agricultural Resources.
