The name of his parents is Bosede (mother) and Samuel Ogulu (Father). He originally hails from Ahoada, a not so big township in Rivers State.
He grew alongside his younger ones who are twp girls. His family members are music lovers but don’t joke with Academics. His education started at Montessori International primary school, Port Harcourt where he earned his First School Leaving Certificate in 2002.
He proceeded to Corona Secondary School in Lagos, where he earned his West African Senior School Certificate 6 years after. His music impart was felt during his days at Corona, he used to belong to a high school band “Def Code” where he lead the band in a performance at the national stadium, Lagos.
By 2010, his music career was full-fledged, he’s traveled out to the United Kingdom where he picked up Brixton Patois accent while in the UK, what we can call today to be his signature line.
He has also attended several immersion summer camps in Togo, France, and Cote d’Ivoire, before moving to England. According to Forbes in its new ranking, Burn Boy is one of the wealthiest and most expensive musicians in Nigeria in 2019.
While in the UK, he proceeded to the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom from 2008 to 2009 where he bagged a degree in Media Technology.
From 2009 to 2010, he also studied Media Communications and Culture at Oxford Brooke’s University in the United Kingdom After which he came back to Nigeria for a one-year internship with Rhythm 93.7 FM in Port Harcourt.
In 2010, he signed his first record contract with Aristocrat records which marks the beginning of his professional music career in Nigeria. His big break came about 2 years later when he a hit single titled “Like To Party” which is the first on his debut album “L.I.F.E”.
He has since released several popular hit tracks like Yawa Dey, Like to Party, Tonight, Check and Balance, Don Gorgon, Soke, and Follow Me and many others. He is currently managed by Atlantic Records and pronounced as one of the most gifted and consistent artists in the country.

In the News: Burna Boy nominated for Grammy Awards 2021
Nigerian Afro-fusion pop star Damini Ogulu, widely known as the Burna Boy, made the 2021 Grammy Awards list of nominees.
On Wednesday, the organizers of the Grammy Awards announced the list of artists nominated for the awards with Singer and rapper, Lizzo, on top of the nomination list in eight multiple categories. Ariana Grande, whose album “thank u, next” missed the Grammy due date of last year, but came around and scooped five nominations this year.
A nomination was also bagged by the African giant in the category ‘ Best World Music Album.’
Artist such as Davido, Banky W, Wizkid and others have taken to Twitter to congratulate Burna Boy on his nomination.
