Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil, has confirmed that he is very well screened positive for coronavirus.
Bolsonaro said it live at his official residence on Thursday on his weekly Twitter.
The President denied the virus’ magnitude and described it as mere flu since the pandemic started.
In view of the country’s second most hit with coronavirus behind the US, Bolsonaro had questioned Governors’ containment initiatives.
Bolsonaro said he began taking one hydroxychloroquine tablet a day after he began to feel sick and is now ‘very healthy.’
The medication, initially tested for malaria control, was prescribed in several countries as a COVID-19 treatment but was not officially approved.
“I say it very simply, and it did, I took [hydroxychloroquine]. I’m all right, thank You.
He further told those against the use of the anti-malaria drug to provide an alternative.
“Let those who oppose it propose an alternative at least,” said Bolsonaro.
Nevertheless, he declined to make “hydroxychloroquine propaganda.”
